Practice Areas

Albert G. Stoll, Jr. | A Law Corporation – Stands up for the rights of individuals every day. We offer aggressive legal representation that gets you the compensation you need. In thirteen years of practice and over fifty civil trials, the firm has developed effective strategies for arguing for the rights of the injured and winning.

Catastrophic Personal Injury and Wrongful Death

We have represented catastrophically injured people and the families who have lost loved ones in cases involving dangerous property, hazardous roads, and unsafe public property. We work with medical experts, life care planners, vocational rehabilitation professionals, and economist to calculate damages that may extend for a lifetime.

Car, Motorcycle, and Bicycle Accidents

Many of us live with a false sense of security. We commute to work, to school, and to conduct the business of daily life, assuming that in the event of an accident our insurance will cover the medical bills if we're hurt, protect us financially if we hurt someone else, and insure the vehicle that represents a substantial investment of our hard-earned money. Then an accident happens, and we discover the insurance industry does not feel obligated to pay our claims. Sometimes it takes a fight to get the coverage we're owed.

The insurance industry has become extremely aggressive in its tactics for avoiding their responsibility for payment. After a negligent driver rear-ended Sonya Schwab's automobile and injured two discs in her neck, '[The other driver's insurance company] . . . demanded a jury trial and hired an orthopedist, psychologist, and biomechanical engineer to testify that Ms. Schwab was imagining her injury. We discredited each of the insurance company experts and convinced the Marin County jury to find in Sonya's favor.

Insurance Bad Faith

Car accident victims aren’t the only people betrayed by their insurance companies. Insurance companies are refusing people’s claims for benefits against life, health, disability, and property insurance, too.

Life insurance should be straightforward: The policyholder dies; the beneficiaries get the compensation the person arranged to care for their loved ones. One client hired Al to represent his son in fights against two separate insurance companies that had rescinded life insurance benefits and refused to pay on policies the son’s uncle had purchased. Al fought the case for over a year in federal court and finally convinced both insurance companies to pay.

Punishing customers who file claims is a common insurance industry practice. Retha Wellons had a disability policy with what was at the time the largest insurance company in the United States. When she became disabled and filed a claim, her policy was canceled. She was fortunate enough to find a zealous advocate in Al Stoll. Al fought on her behalf for over three years against the largest disability insurance company in America at the time. He recovered many times the amount of the original claim.

Nursing Home Abuse

You may have a family member or a loved one who is currently in a nursing home. These formerly independent and self-sufficient men and women are now totally dependent for their daily needs on the nursing homes staff and administration. Patients in nursing homes deserve the best care, but often this is not the case. We stand up for the rights of elders who are killed, neglected, abused or taken advantage of while in the care of an assisted living or skilled nursing facility. Please, report cases of Elder abuse to us, before it is too late.

Adverse Drug Reactions and Pharmaceutical Company Litigation

We stand up for the rights of people who have been insured by unsafe drugs. Drugs or pills that have not been properly tested or that have undisclosed side effects should be taken off the market. If you or a loved one has been injured by a drug, Drug Company, pill, or vitamins we can help you determine your rights in court and obtain compensation for your losses.
